Eric Barnabas Patrick is a self-taught video editor, visual artist and filmmaker based in Delhi, working under the name Eric Effects. His creative journey began through music, where since 2016 he has been surrounded by rappers, singers, producers, designers and musicians, creating visuals independently alongside the music. What started as a need to create their own music videos gradually developed into a serious creative practice. His first visual experiments began on an iPhone 6s, followed by years of shooting and editing independent music projects. Around 2020, Eric began developing his editing craft more seriously, and in 2021 continued creating music videos on an iPhone 12 mini.
In 2024, moving to a MacBook M1 marked the beginning of his professional post-production journey, and since June 2024 he has worked across music videos, commercial campaigns, branded content and digital media. His path has never been conventional; after studying in the PCM/PCB stream, Eric completed a B.Sc. in Nursing before choosing to pursue visual work professionally. Entirely self-taught and without a formal film-school background, he developed his craft through independent projects, experimentation and real-world production — turning a creative practice born from music into the professional visual identity known today as Eric Effects.

For Eric, editing begins long before the footage reaches the timeline. He does not see a music video as simply placing slow-motion shots, lip-syncs and coverage into an editing software until something fits. The visual idea should already begin taking shape before the shoot — through the concept, the required shots, the rhythm and an understanding of how the music will move through the image.
His editing is deeply connected to music. Lyrics, rhythm, movement and changes in energy influence the way he builds a sequence. Repetition is deliberately avoided; the same lip-sync or visual pattern should not continue simply because it is available. Each section should bring something new to the viewer — a change in pace, composition, movement or visual energy. Whenever possible, Eric looks for an unexpected moment that breaks the audience’s expectation and makes them wonder what just happened.
This approach extends beyond music videos. Whether working on a commercial campaign, brand film, modelling video, reel or other visual project, Eric believes the edit should contribute to the idea rather than simply arrange the footage. Every sequence should have a purpose, the visual language should continue developing, and the audience should always have a reason to keep watching.
Since beginning his professional career, Eric has worked across independent music and commercial production, with experience ranging from individually developed music videos to extremely high-volume advertising campaigns. His commercial work includes Flipkart, Xiaomi, Redmi, Samsung, Motorola, POCO, Vivo, HMD, Pulse AI and Nova AI.
His work with Flipkart has included promotional campaigns surrounding Big Billion Days, Big Saving Days, GOAT and Diwali sales. His smartphone-brand work has involved large-scale production across multiple cities, including a Xiaomi campaign involving approximately 2,000 videos across Delhi, Dehradun, Gurgaon, Noida and Moradabad.
A separate 400-video Redmi campaign, covering retailer, technology and lifestyle profiles, was completed within approximately five to six days. Through his long-term freelance work with Idiotic Media, Eric has also worked under demanding commercial timelines, at times delivering approximately 100 videos in a single night and 150 videos across two days.
Alongside commercial work, music remains an important part of Eric’s creative identity. His selected music-video work includes When I Flex My Hustle, Heeriye, Remedy, Diamond, Kambhaqt Ishq, Sajna, Insomnia, Faded — Epic Version, Heels Off, 4AM in Noida and Keh Bhi Na Sake, with his contributions ranging across editing, colour grading, concepts, direction and visual development.
Eric is also a musician and songwriter, having created approximately 30–50 songs and released the 12-track album Mai Bina Mai. Creating music himself gives him a different relationship with music-video editing: the song is not simply placed underneath the visuals; rhythm, lyrics and emotion become part of the visual construction itself.
His professional experience has also included work through production companies and agencies, including projects involving creators such as Elvish Yadav, where he worked as an editor through the production company rather than as a direct Eric Effects client. A project connected with Bijnori Poem and Round2Hell also crossed 1.6 million views on YouTube.
Eric currently works primarily with Final Cut Pro and also has experience with Adobe Premiere Pro. Editing, colour grading and sound design form part of his own workflow, while VFX, motion graphics, cinematography and photography are handled through his wider creative network when required.
That network includes Dennis Patrick, who works across music production, graphic design, UI/UX, VFX and motion graphics; Kevin Thomas, the official manager of Eric Effects; and Oscar Patrick aka Shabbey, who contributes to the wider creative and management side while working independently as a rapper, writer and social media professional. The wider production network also includes Haris Cinematographer, Arun Singh Chaudhary, SR Films, AL Films and Sharon, allowing Eric Effects to expand from post-production into complete visual productions when a project requires it.
Based in Delhi and originally from Bijnor, Eric primarily works across Delhi, Noida and Gurgaon, while remaining available for projects across India, Dubai and remote collaborations worldwide. Eric Effects is built around editing, visual direction and a wider creative network — with the aim of continuously moving between music, advertising, digital content and film without being restricted to one format.
